Careysburg Police Launches Manhunt for a 28-Year-Old Classroom Teacher Rape Suspect

MONROVIA, LIBERIA: Report from Careysburg Statutory District in Montserrado County says the Liberia National Police have launched a massive search for a 28-year-old man, David Sando Jr., for allegedly raping a 13-year-old disabled child within the Township of Kingsville.

The incident took place late Thursday night at about 8:00 PM on November 6, when the survivor, who was born blind and can't walk, was left at home alone.

According to the victim's mother, Victoria Payne, a single mother of three children, upon her return from work, observed that he daughter wasn't found in her normal position where she usually placed her before going out.

Madame Payne narrated that she only saw her daughter ( survivor) lying down in bed, and she later told her that it was Uncle David Sando Jr. who took her into the room and rape her.

She added that after carrying on the act, she was seriously threatened by the perpetrator, David, not to tell anyone.

Madame Victoria Payne lamented that later she discovered that the underclothes and bed sheet were messed up with blood, which led her to invite the Liberia National Police for investigations.

According to the medical report from the James Davis Hospital, it indicates penetration that the survivor was rape.

Meanwhile, the Gender coordinator for Montserrado County, Mr. Benedict Nyae, was able to provide the amount of five thousand Liberian dollars to the mother of the child to begin the treatment per the prescription given to her from the Hospital.

The mother of the survivor is appealing for financial support as well as a wheelchair to ease her movements.
