Defense Minister Prince C. Johnson Succumbs to Pressure from Army Wives Association

Report reaching Knewsonline says; Defense Minister Retired Major General Prince Charles Johnson has tender in his resignation as newly appointed Minister of National Defense.

This accordingly comes at a time where the newly appointed and confirmed Minister of National Defense has been vehemently rejected by wives and children of the gallant men and women of the Armed Forces of Liberia on grounds that he (Johnson) is not fit for the position.

For the past week, wives and children of Men in arms have staged a nonstop protest action in every corner of the Country including various barracks and the Capitol building, home of the Liberian legislature.

Despite fruitless efforts by some government officials, the women who are bend on calling for his replacement at all giving opportunity.

Some say, Retired Maj. Prince C. Johnson has been engaged with ranging insults on their husbands and chopping their benefits while his little son lives lavish life on the FC Barcelona football academy among several other claims.

They have staged road blocks and protests in Monrovia and across Liberia, closing major highways outside the city, but in a statement obtained, Johnson explains that his resignation is in the best interest of the nation and the institution he has dedicated over 18 years of service to.

He stated his commitment to ensuring discipline within the army while denying any accusations of financial misbehavior.

President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has meanwhile accepted his letter of reignation as seen above.

What's next for him now because he has already been retired by the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Liberia, Pres. Joseph Boakai and he is now a civilian?
