“Don’t Be Mean” VP Koung Urges Officials to Treat Citizens with Respect

Nimba County, Liberia: Vice President Jeremiah Koung has cautioned government officials against being mean to ordinary Liberians, reminding them that the people they now serve are the same people who voted them into office.

Speaking in Nimba County, Koung encouraged public officials to be compassionate and generous, noting that even a small act of kindness or assistance can make a significant difference in someone’s life.

He urged government appointees to remain humble and accessible, stressing that holding public office does not make anyone superior to others.

We are not super humans, and we are not infallible,” the Vice President said, adding that only a limited number of people can occupy government positions at any given time. He encouraged those entrusted with public service to use the opportunity to help others and give back to their communities.

Koung also informed residents that President Joseph Boakai is expected to visit Nimba County and spend the night there during an upcoming engagement, a development he said citizens should look forward to.
