Speaking during the launch of a political movement under the banner "National Independent Movement for Boakai (NIMBO)", on Sunday, May 24, 2026, in Monrovia, the Liberia leader told citizens that it is difficult for any government to succeed in a divided state.
The National Independent Movement for Boakai is a newly established pro-regime group, founded by Deputy House Speaker Thomas Fallah, aimed at supporting the political agenda of President Boakai.
Further speaking, President Boakai said his government is already making significant strides in many sectors, including Education, Infrastructure, Electricity, Health, Water and Sewer, but said citizens participation remains key in determining their success.
He specifically pointed to road connectivity, construction of modern school facilities, expansion of electricity and piped borne water supply in the country, as some progress under his leadership that Liberians should collectively embrace.
The Liberian Head of State emphasized that division over political and tribal differences has not helped in the nation-building of Liberia. He admonished citizens to disregard their differences and settle for one goal to move the country forward.
President Boakai described the launch of NIMBO as a clear demonstration of citizens resolve to support his administration ARREST Agenda. The agenda primarily focuses on Agriculture, Road, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation and Tourism.
"I am saying to all of you, it is not so much about the next election, but about the next generation. What you do is what builds this country. I do not think it could have been more important to attend another occasion than here today, when Liberians decide to come together in the interest of their country, to put their country first".
"I think that is why all of you have done and we are going to work with. We want to make a show that Liberians that Liberians will respect one another. When you talk bad about your country, of course you are making things difficult for yourselves".
"We promise you as a government that whatever we do will not be for two or three days, to make Liberian lives better. That is why we are making sure we pave roads and supply clean water among other things. It is not something to beg for, it is your right, that is why you elected us".
Meanwhile, President Joseph Boakai vowed that his administration will push to address pressing challenges in the country. He said the government is working to increase job opportunities for Liberians.
According to him, doing so will empower citizens and better living conditions in Liberia.
Also speaking at the gathering, the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of the National Independent Movement for Boakai, Deputy House Speaker Thomas Fallah, said the launch of the movement is not intended to seek favor from the President, but a way of supporting the President's vision for the country.
Fallah, once an opposition figure, said his decision to have established said movement, was driven by what he termed as major progress made under the leadership of President Joseph Boakai in less than three years of his term in power.
He stated that NIMBO consists of politicians and non-politicans from diverse backgrounds who are resolved to lend support and propagate the development initiatives of the Unity Party government.
"Mr. President, I stand here today not only me, but my colleagues. We are clear, Mr. President, we do not need any favor, we have come here with conviction, we believe that our country is on the right path".
"We believe in your leadership, within three years, you have done extremely well. We do not need to be told, we are the direct representation of the 5.6 million people of this country. NIBMO was established with the core mission of lending you our support", Deputy Speaker Fallah stated.
To reflect, Thomas Fallah was expelled from the opposition Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) in 2024 for reportedly breaching the party's constitution.
His expulsion was tied to reports that he joined ranks with a bloc in the House, during a heated leadership dispute that resulted in the removal of Representative J. Fonati Koffa, a CDC Executive, from the House speakership position.
Fallah has since declared support for President Boakai and the ruling Unity Party. Political pundits believe the launch of the NIMBO by Fallah will play a major role in the Unity Party mobilization efforts ahead of the 2029 polls by strengthening its political base.
