Fuel Prices Increase in Liberia Effective March 14 2026
Monrovia, Liberia: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Liberia), in consultation with the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC), has announced an increase in the ceiling prices of petroleum products on the Liberian market, effective March 14, 2026.
According to the Ministry, the adjustment affects both wholesale and retail prices of gasoline (PMS) and fuel oil (AGO), citing prevailing market conditions as the reason for the increase.
Under the new pricing structure, gasoline (PMS) has increased by US$0.85, bringing the wholesale price to US$4.59 per gallon and the retail pump price to US$4.87 per gallon, equivalent to approximately L$910.00.
Fuel oil (AGO) has also risen by US$0.90, with the wholesale price now set at US$5.50 per gallon, while the retail pump price stands at US$5.78 per gallon, or about L$1,080.00.
The price adjustment is based on the February 13, 2026 exchange rate issued by the Central Bank of Liberia, which places the Liberian dollar at L$187 to US$1.
Meanwhile, the Ministry says its Inspectorate Team will intensify monitoring of fuel stations and importers nationwide to ensure compliance with the approved ceiling prices and to prevent hoarding, arbitrary price hikes, or unfair competition within the petroleum sector.
The announcement was jointly issued by Commerce and Industry Minister Magdalene Ellen Dagoseh and Managing Director of LPRC Amos Bweh.
