President Boakai Says 16 Executive Orders Issued to Advance Governance and National Development

Monrovia, Liberia: President Joseph Nyuma Boakai says his administration has issued 16 executive orders aimed at strengthening governance, accelerating socio-economic priorities, and aligning government actions with Liberia’s national development goals.

Speaking Monday during his State of the Nation Address at the Capitol Building, President Boakai told lawmakers that the executive actions were designed to complement legislative efforts and ensure that government programs directly benefit ordinary Liberians.

Each action, whether by law or executive order, was taken for one purpose: the benefit of the Liberian people,” the President said.

He explained that the orders focus on improving public sector efficiency, strengthening accountability, and supporting key sectors of the economy, including agriculture, energy, and financial services.

The President also highlighted reforms to Liberia’s agricultural commodities regulatory framework, saying government is working to enhance production, processing, and marketing of quality agricultural products to boost exports and improve farmers’ incomes.

According to President Boakai, his administration is prioritizing institutional reforms, digital systems, and domestic resource mobilization to reduce reliance on external funding and strengthen economic resilience.

He acknowledged that recent economic disruptions created hardship for many families but said government protected social spending, maintained essential services, and secured renewed commitments from development partners to close funding gaps.

President Boakai reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparency, fiscal discipline, and inclusive growth, promising that reforms will continue as Liberia works to restore stability and expand opportunity nationwide.
