From Talk to Action: Over 300 Students Empowered at REO Liberia Career Summit in Paynesville

Paynesville, Liberia: More than 300 young Liberian students gathered in Paynesville City for a transformative career development initiative hosted by the Revealers Educating Organization (REO Liberia), a non profit group focused on shaping the next generation through education, mentorship, and practical guidance.

The event, dubbed Career Expertise Motivation Program 2.0, was held under the bold and direct theme: “Stop Dreaming, Start Doing.” It brought together a diverse lineup of professionals across key sectors including education, school administration, acting, accounting, and agriculture all with one mission: to bridge the gap between ambition and action.

Founder and Executive Director of REO Liberia, Mr. Sam W. Wehye, used the platform to deliver a message that cut straight to the reality facing many young Liberians. He emphasized that dreams alone are not enough, urging students to take responsibility for turning their aspirations into real, measurable outcomes.

We believe service shapes us, impact connects us, and legacy defines us,” Wehye said, highlighting the organization’s long-term vision of building a generation that does more with the little resources available.

The program featured facilitators including Mr. Manfred Mulbah (Teaching), Jelyoune L. Fink (School Administration), Chemonlyne K. Bowier (Acting), Mr. Forley Mulbah (Accounting), and Davidetta T. Cassell (Agriculture), alongside Guest Speaker Hon. MC-Agnes M. Tingban. Each speaker broke down real-world career paths, challenges, and opportunities, giving students a practical look at life beyond the classroom.

Participants were not just talked to  they were engaged, challenged, and pushed to think differently. Sessions focused on building confidence, exposing students to career realities, and creating networking opportunities with professionals already in the field.

REO Liberia says the initiative is part of a broader national effort to provide educational support across communities and equip young people with the tools needed to succeed in an increasingly competitive environment.

Students from several institutions, including the Police Academy Public School, Second Repentance Baptist Church School, Reunion Christian Academy, LICOSESS Demonstration School, and the Ann Sandell Independent School System, actively participated in the program.

By the end of the program, one message was clear: Liberia’s young people are not short on dreams they are short on direction, exposure, and structured support. And programs like this are stepping in to fill that gap.
