UL Freezes Law School Dux Announcement as Complaints Trigger Investigation

Monrovia, Liberia: The University of Liberia Board of Trustees has halted the announcement of this year’s Law School Dux, citing complaints from graduating students and new information that recently surfaced.

In a statement issued in Monrovia, the Board said it has instructed the university administration to suspend any declaration of a Dux during the upcoming commencement while a board-commissioned investigation is underway.

According to the Board, an earlier comment made by the University President was based on limited information available at the time and does not reflect the latest details now before both the administration and the trustees.

The trustees emphasized that naming a Dux after commencement will not affect the graduation ceremony and urged students to remain calm and law-abiding throughout the process.
