From Struggle to Success: Young Liberian John T. Korfeh Earns Magna Cum Laude in Mechanical Engineering
Rajkot, India: John T. Korfeh, a young Liberian scholar, has graduated First Class with Distinction (Magna Cum Laude) in Mechanical Engineering from Marwadi University in Rajkot, India, marking a significant academic milestone as a first-generation graduate.
Korfeh specialized in Thermal Engineering with emphasis in Computational Fluid Dynamics, a discipline that focuses on the study of heat, energy systems, and fluid behavior using advanced computer simulations. The field has applications in areas such as power generation, engines, refrigeration, and industrial processes.
In a deeply personal reflection shared following his graduation, Korfeh described his academic journey as one defined by hardship, endurance, and faith.
He recounted years of sleepless nights, financial pressures, and emotional struggles, noting that balancing academic demands with life’s challenges often tested his limits.
A defining moment in his journey, he revealed, was the loss of his father an experience he said reshaped his life but also strengthened his determination to succeed.
Korfeh credited his family as the driving force behind his achievement. He paid special tribute to his uncle, Morrison G. Kpakolo, for providing steadfast support throughout his education, as well as his mother, Theresa Korfeh, whose prayers and sacrifices he described as instrumental.
He also acknowledged the encouragement of loved ones, siblings, and close supporters who played meaningful roles during difficult periods.
As a first-generation graduate, Korfeh emphasized that the accomplishment represents more than personal success, calling it a reflection of the collective sacrifices, hopes, and prayers of his family.
Korfeh used the moment to encourage young people facing challenges, urging perseverance even when circumstances appear overwhelming.
He described his graduation not simply as an academic achievement, but as a story of resilience, discipline, and purpose adding that his journey is only beginning.
