North Central Alliance Wants President Boakai Dismiss “Corrupt and Indiscipline Public Officials”
MONROVIA, LIBERIA: A pro-democracy citizen’s movement Civil Society Organization (CSO) named and styled: “North Central Alliance” (NAC) has called on President Joseph N. Boakai not to hesitate in dismissing government officials the group described as “corrupt, indiscipline and unproductive.”
Addressing a news conference in Paynesville City on Monday, November 17, 2025, NCA National President Jamah Allison Barco, urged President Boakai to discharge individuals he termed as “arrogant and big-headed” from their duties.
“The NCA further emphasizes that the government of President Joseph Nyumah Boakai, Sr. has some big-headed, corrupt, indiscipline and unproductive officials with disruptive attitudes and behaviors that need to be weeded out of the government if President Boakai must fulfill on his promises,” the NCA National President intoned.
“Hence, we insist that this is about for the President to appoint individuals who are knowledgeable, committed, patriotic and competent to implement his dreams in thinking, loving and building Liberia, instead of elevation individuals bend on achieving parochial interests,” Jamah Allison Barco added.
According to Barco, NCA cannot ignore widespread public concerns regarding national security, education, and the economy arguing that if the President must succeed in making well on his 2023 Presidential Legislative Election campaign promises he must let go off unproductive government officials.
Barco: “The NCA also admits that the public concerns and noise are too much about security, the economy and education, among others that need to be addressed urgently.”
The regional pro-democracy citizen movement comprising of Gbarpolu, Bong, Margibi, and Nimba Counties has also called on President Boakai to with immediate effect reverse free tuition policy for tertiary education introduced by the former ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC)-led government.
According to NCA, the free tuition policy is meaningless to Liberia’s education sector. He group argues that the policy has allegedly created more obstacles than solving challenges the education system is faced with.
“The NCA is also calling on President Boakai to take bold and decisive step to immediately reverse the free tuition policy that cancelled payments of tuition and fees at various governments’ universities across the country,” NAC said.
“The NCA thinks that the free tuition policy introduced by former President George M. Weah is troublesome, meaningless, and counterproductive to the country. The free tuition policy has created more problems than improving learning conditions and impacting learning outcomes at government’s institutions of higher learning.”
Weighing in on situation at the state-owned University of Liberia, the NCA has frowned at the persistent wave of interruptions of learning of academic activities by students and faculty members.
According to NCA, the unabated protests by students and go-slow action by members of the faculty has greatly diminished the quality and the prestige of the nation’s premier institution of higher learning.
In the vein, the NCA called on President Boakai to halt learning activities at UL for academic school year so as to properly renovate, restructure and upgrade the facility.
Meanwhile, the North Central Alliance has reiterated its unwavering support and commitment to the administration of President Boakai on grounds that the government is a brainchild of the NCA.
“The NCA is applauding the President for the many developmental initiatives taking place in the country, noting that the exceptional performance of the government in a relatively short period of time runs critics into misconception. The NCA say though all is not well, equally so things are not worst in the country to warrant demonstration,” NCA National President, Jamah Allison Barco concluded.
