Justice Ministry Names Persons of Interest in US$19.2 Million Drug Investigation

Monrovia, Liberia: The Ministry of Justice has identified several individuals as persons of interest in the ongoing investigation into the seizure of narcotics valued at approximately US$19.2 million at the Roberts International Airport (RIA).

Speaking on behalf of the Joint Investigative Task Force, authorities said the designation follows evidence gathered through witness testimonies, cargo documentation, operational records, and preliminary findings from the investigation.

Those named as persons of interest include:

  • Philly Yeo, Security Manager for Global Logistics Services at RIA
  • Festus S. Musa, Cargo Handler for Global Logistics Services
  • Ruth Bapewea, RIA Screener/Scanner Agent
  • Archie Yanphor, Cargo Handler for Express Handling Services
  • Arthur B. Adula, Chief Executive Officer of Express Handling Services
  • Jerry E. Zeon, RIA Scanner Agent
  • Mohamed Boga, Security Director at Roberts International Airport
  • Paul J. King, Chief Executive Officer of Global Logistics Services
  • Oscar Brown, Chief of Intelligence for RIA Security
  • Emmanuel T. Zeon, Transporter for Express Handling Services

According to the Justice Ministry, Paul J. King, Oscar Brown, and Emmanuel T. Zeon are currently at large and are being sought in connection with the investigation.

Authorities emphasized that being named a person of interest does not mean an individual has been found guilty of any crime. The designation is intended to assist investigators as they continue gathering evidence and determining the circumstances surrounding the massive drug shipment.

The government says the investigation remains active and ongoing, with additional developments expected as investigators pursue leads and conduct further inquiries.

The US$19.2 million drug case has drawn significant public attention and is considered one of the largest narcotics investigations in Liberia’s recent history.
