Kouh Reacts to LFA Ban: "The Governing Rules of Football Will Prevail"

Monrovia, Liberia: Expelled Liberian football stakeholder and President of First Division League club Fassell, Cassell Kouh, has insisted that the revocation of his membership and the ban imposed on him from all football-related activities in the country, by the Liberia Football Association (LFA), was not done through the proper channels.

It can be recalled on Monday, July 6, 2026, the LFA through its Grievances and Disciplinary Committee, announced the ban of Kouh from Liberian football, citing his breach of both the FA and FIFA statutes.

The football governing body said its decision followed findings of investigation that held Kouh in violation of Article 18, Subsection 18.3(0)(K) and Article 19 of its statutes, for seeking legal recourse through an ordinary court during the Football House's election dispute.

According to the FA, these articles mandate that all football-related disputes be resolved solely through designated football Arbitration Tribunals.

The election dispute during the body's 2026 Elective Congress arose over the FC Fassell President's eligibility to contest the election on grounds of his conviction for investment fraud in the United States back in 2027.

Cassell Kouh who believed the process deprived him of his rights, took the LFA to the Civil Law Court of Liberia and filed an injunction on the election activities, even though it was later released, and he was ultimately denied to contest for the LFA's Presidency.

However, responding to his ban by the LFA for a reported breach of statutes, the expelled football stakeholder Kouh noted that he remains confident that due process will be followed.

He believes the decision taken by the LFA requires legal review, even though he declined to state where irregularities in his sanction may have existed.

Kouh penned down on his official social media handle: "At this stage, I will not discuss the details of the ongoing process. I believe the matter should be handled through the proper channels, and I remain confident that fairness, due process, and the governing rules of football will prevail".

"I remain peaceful, focused, and respectful of the process. I ask my supporters, players, staff, and the public to remain calm and patient. We must continue to believe that the right thing will be done".

Meanwhile, the FC President Cassell Kuoh says his commitment to football remains unchanged. He noted that his investment in the game continues to inspire young talents and provide opportunities for exposure.

"I want to make one thing clear: my commitment to football remains strong and unchanged. Football has never been a passing interest for me. It is something I believe in deeply because of what it does for young people, families, and communities. Through football, young men and women find discipline, purpose, opportunity, exposure, and hope".

As controversies pour over Kouh's ban, many football fans and stakeholders now wonder how the FC Fassell President intends to pursue the matter.
