According to information reported by River Gee-based journalist Prince Copeland, the incident reportedly occurred on March 8, 2026, in Torroken Town, Kilepo Karweaken District, where Regina Partah, a 58-year-old Grebo woman, was allegedly stripped naked and forced to parade through the community by a group of men who accused her of practicing witchcraft.

Police reports indicate that Partah was accompanied by Abraham Koklue, a 21-year-old Guinean national believed to be a traditional medicine practitioner. Authorities further allege that Koklue carried a single-barrel rifle, fired several rounds into the air, and forced the woman to squat while she was being publicly displayed before residents.

The incident gained national attention after a video purportedly showing the alleged abuse surfaced on social media, triggering widespread public condemnation and calls for accountability.

Quoting journalist Prince Copeland, authorities swiftly intervened after the video emerged and launched a formal investigation into the matter.

As part of the ongoing probe, police have arrested five suspects identified as Cyrus Tinapo, Thomas Sloh, Doe Wapplo II, Patrick Swen, and Abraham Koklue.

The suspects are currently being held and investigated at the River Gee County Police Detachment headquarters. Law enforcement authorities have assured the public that anyone found responsible for violating the law will be prosecuted.

Copeland further reported that efforts to obtain information about the incident initially met resistance from some community members who allegedly attempted to prevent details from becoming public. However, continued reporting and public interest helped bring the matter to wider national attention, prompting increased scrutiny and police action.

Meanwhile, Regina Partah has called on the government and relevant authorities to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation and ensure that justice is served.

The Liberia National Police has reiterated its commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of all citizens and urged the public to report allegations of criminal conduct through lawful channels rather than resorting to mob action, violence, or public humiliation.

The investigation remains ongoing.
