Surveillance Footage Emerges as Key Evidence in Dr. Vicky Gray Criminal Trial

Monrovia, Liberia: The Monrovia City Court has turned its attention to surveillance footage that could become one of the most important pieces of evidence in the ongoing criminal case involving social media personality Dr. Vicky Gray.

Magistrate L. Ben Barco has ordered the management of Cigar Bar, located on 19th Street in Sinkor, to appear before the court on Tuesday, June 30, with all available CCTV recordings connected to an incident that allegedly occurred at the establishment on June 21.

The court is seeking video footage showing the events before, during and after the reported confrontation, along with any electronic records that can verify the authenticity of the recordings. Prosecutors believe the footage could help establish exactly what happened and identify everyone who was present.

Dr. Gray is being prosecuted following a complaint filed by Stephen Weah, Joseph C. Weah Jr., and Emmanuel Buno through the Republic of Liberia. She and other individuals yet to be identified are accused of aggravated assault, simple assault, menacing, criminal conspiracy, criminal solicitation and disorderly conduct.

The latest order marks another development in a case that has attracted significant public attention. Earlier, the court lifted a travel restriction imposed on Dr. Gray after her lawyers challenged the Writ of Ne Exeat Republica, allowing her freedom of movement while the criminal proceedings continue.

With eyewitness accounts expected to differ, investigators are hoping the surveillance recordings will provide an independent account of the alleged confrontation. The court has warned that Cigar Bar must comply with the subpoena or risk contempt proceedings and other legal consequences under Liberian law.

The case resumes Tuesday, when prosecutors are expected to present the requested digital evidence as part of their effort to prove the allegations against the defendants.
