“They Failed Us All” — Bility Slams CDC, UP Administrations
GANTA, NIMBA COUNTY: The Political Leader of the Citizen Movement for Change (CMC) and Representative of Nimba County District #7, Musa Hassan Bility, has criticized the two leading political parties in Liberia, the former ruling Coalition for Democratic Change and the ruling Unity Party, stating that they have betrayed the hopes and aspirations of the Liberian people.

Speaking to a cross-section of citizens in Ganta, Nimba County, Bility said Liberia has endured widespread corruption, broken promises, and failed governance under past and present governments, which he said contradicts their promises to the Liberian people.
“For too long, we have watched corruption eat our country like a cancer,” the CMC political leader Bility declared. “We have watched our children graduate from universities only to remain unemployed, our mothers walk miles to hospitals with no medicine, and our farmers struggle on roads that lead nowhere.”
Representative Musa Bility said both the former ruling Coalition for Democratic Change and the incumbent Unity Party have not utilized the opportunities afforded them by citizens to deliver meaningful reforms in the country despite years of political dominance.
“We waited for the Unity Party. They didn’t deliver. We waited for the CDC before them. They failed us too,” he said. “We have been patient, hopeful, and disappointed—but the waiting is over.”
Meanwhile, Bility stressed that the establishment of the Citizens Movement for Change is to inspire developmental politics in Liberia.
He said since the launch of the CMC, the party has shouldered tangible initiatives, including road rehabilitation, construction of bridges, schools, and sanitation facilities across several counties.
"This is only the beginning if we can accomplish this much in such a short time, imagine what we can do together", Bility noted.
According to him, political parties have, over the years, assumed power based on rhetoric. The Nimba County District 7 Lawmaker said this has resulted in rampant corruption under past and present governments, which, according to him, continues to stall national development.
He vowed to end the decades of reign of the Unity Party and the Coalition for Democratic Change in the political setting of Liberia.
Bility had publicly declared to contest the Liberian Presidency in 2029. He said when assume the role, his first priority will focus squarely on eliminating corruption.
The Nimba County District 7 Lawmaker said corruption under the past and present governments has long stalled national development in Liberia.
“Not as a politician, but as a Liberian who loves this country with everything I have, I promise you this,” he declared. “CMC will end corruption—not reduce it, not manage it, but end it. And we will create real jobs—jobs that allow Liberians to provide for their families with dignity.”
