Nimba County, Liberia:A bitter political feud within the Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction (MDR) has taken a dramatic turn, with Tabitha Kogar, daughter of Nimba County Senator Samuel G. Kogar, publicly challenging former Montserrado County District #10 representative candidate Yeakeh Sayequee to publish his academic credentials, further exposing widening cracks between supporters of Senator Kogar and loyalists of Vice President Jeremiah Koung.

The latest confrontation erupted after Sayequee dismissed arguments centered on academic qualifications, claiming leadership cannot be measured solely by educational achievements. In a social media response, he also took aim at Senator Kogar's educational background while criticizing what he described as unnecessary boasting by the senator's daughter.

"Leadership is not about credentials alone. It is about character, competence, integrity, accountability, and the ability to serve people effectively," Sayequee wrote. "Titles and qualifications mean very little if they are not matched by humility, sound judgment, and results."

The former representative candidate escalated the exchange further by making personal remarks directed at the senator and his daughter. "I have arranged a Gio class for your father," he stated, before adding, "If u attacked me I will attack ur father any day anytime Tabitha Jackie Kogar."

Refusing to back down, Tabitha Kogar fired back by defending her father's academic history and insisting that transparency should apply equally to everyone participating in the public debate. She maintained that Senator Kogar earned his degree from African Methodist Episcopal University and disclosed that she holds both bachelor's and master's degrees.

"I don't care how you come at me; you will never win this debate by avoiding the issue," Kogar responded. "My father earned his degree from AMEU. I have been transparent about my academic qualifications."

She then issued a direct challenge to Sayequee, writing, "Now I challenge you to do the same. Post your high school diploma or your academic credentials so we can have an honest discussion based on facts, not distractions. The floor is yours."

The exchange has intensified an already growing rivalry within the MDR, where divisions between supporters of Senator Kogar and allies of Vice President Koung continue to play out publicly, shifting attention from governance and policy to bitter personal attacks and political mudslinging.

The claims and counterclaims regarding academic qualifications and personal conduct made by both Tabitha Kogar and Yeakeh Sayequee have not been independently verified. Their statements reflect their respective positions in an increasingly heated political dispute that continues to fuel debate across social media and within Liberia's political landscape.
