“‘Barking Dogs’ and ‘Shameless Messengers’: Mulbah Morlu Fires Fierce Attack on Daniel Sando”
Monrovia, Liberia:A political storm is brewing as STAND Chairman Mulbah Morlu launches a blistering and deeply personal attack against Deputy Information Minister Daniel Sando, branding him a “barking dog” and “very shameless,” while accusing the government of deception, corruption, and moral collapse.
Morlu did not hold back in his criticism of the administration of Joseph Nyuma Boakai, declaring, “President Boakai, the lead ‘barking dog’ during the opposition years, has spent almost three years building an entire government on a thousand lies.” He further alleged that the president has “unleashed itchy little dogs at the Information Ministry” to attack dissenting voices.
Escalating his rhetoric, Morlu described the president’s recent international recognition as illegitimate, stating, “What Boakai is returning with is a tainted peace award, stained by the blood of innocent victims of Liberia’s autocracy.” He insisted that such honors mask deeper governance failures and human rights concerns.
The STAND Chairman also took aim at the inclusion of Gregory Coleman in what he called a “peace trip,” arguing, “Taking Coleman along is proof of the collapse of moral leadership,” while referencing allegations linking the police official to controversial incidents including the Kinjor situation and reported abuses against protesters.
Turning directly to Sando, Morlu dismissed the Deputy Minister’s credibility, asserting, “The Information Ministry speaks through ignorance and labels rather than substance,” and labeling him a “messenger of insults” who lacks decision-making authority within government circles.
Morlu went further to contrast his own standing with that of government officials, claiming, “I have repeatedly declined offers within this government on principle… I would have been his boss far above him had I wanted to.” He emphasized that his activism is rooted in independence rather than political patronage.
Defending his lifestyle and activism, Morlu stated, “I have never relied on a government job… I am stable, and that is why I have the courage to fight for the people.” He framed his continued protests as a mission dedicated to Liberia’s youth and future generations.
In a broader institutional critique, Morlu described officials at the Information Ministry as “crumb-eaters” and “traders of falsehoods,” warning that, “There will always be men who will never bow to wealth, power, or privilege never!”
He concluded with a stark warning to the administration, declaring, “As the president chooses vengeance over justice, he is placing his government on a collision course that may lead to its own collapse,” adding a final cautionary note: “Your panic over whispers of war is laughable..don’t hunt what you can’t kill.”
