President Boakai Inspects First Batch of Yellow Machines at Freeport
Executive Mansion, Monrovia: President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has toured a shipment of road construction equipment at the Freeport of Monrovia following the arrival of the Government’s first batch of heavy-duty machines.
The consignment includes 137 road construction machines out of a total 285 units procured to support nationwide road rehabilitation and expansion. The equipment, widely referred to as “Yellow Machines,” arrived in Liberia on February 22, 2026, and is expected to be deployed across the counties.
According to the Government, the machines will be used to improve road connectivity, ease transportation challenges, and support economic activities, particularly in agriculture and trade.
During the visit, President Boakai also inspected a warehouse containing relief and educational materials donated to benefit vulnerable children and students.
The items were donated by Bishop Trevor Stephen Cockings, President and Founder of His Church Charity, a United Kingdom-based humanitarian organization. The donation includes shoes, clothing, and school supplies intended to assist students, especially those targeted under the Government’s “Back to My Classroom” initiative.
Authorities say distribution has already begun in several counties, including Rivercess and Grand Bassa, with dozens of schools benefiting in the initial phase. Officials emphasized that a structured distribution process has been put in place to ensure transparency and accountability.
President Boakai reaffirmed his Administration’s focus on infrastructure development and educational support, describing both as critical to national growth.
